1943, two years after the start of World War Two and the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Norman Rockwell painted his “Four Freedom” themed paintings: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom From Want and finally the crown jewel: Freedom from Fear. Where today do we see Freedom From Fear? When our elected President is disrespected at every turn? His speech torn up by the House Representative? Sports figures kneel publicly to protest racial issues and those same players use speech that is disgraceful? These figures set the tone for the youths not only of America, but the world. Freedom of Worship is being attacked worldwide especially in Russia against Jehovah’s Witnesses and in other countries genocides seem to be in progress again. Many in the world still suffer from want. Not just physical food but emotional and physical calmness of mind and security. The world is “faint out of fear and expectation…” Luke 21:26. To not become faint and fearful and to have these freedoms longed for, we must sincerely practice them, each one setting the example, from our most prominent Leaders down to the parents who train their children with”discipline in righteousness.”
